"There is music in every child, the teacher's job is to find it and nurture it." ~ Frances Clark
Background Hello! My name is Shane Billingsley and I am the Director of Bands at Pinconning Area Schools. I am primarily a bass clarinetist and pianist, but also dabble in saxophone and percussion. I have performed with many groups over the years including the SVSU Wind Ensemble, Classic Legacy Band of Saginaw, and the Gladwin Community Band. I believe that every person on this planet has the ability to make music, it just takes the right person to nurture that talent. Teaching is my passion and I am thankful every day that sharing my passion for music is my job! |

Experience
My family is originally from the Bay City/Pinconning Area. but I graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2013. I then went on to get my Bachelor's in Music Education from Saginaw Valley State University in 2018 and have been teaching since. Before coming to Pinconning I taught k-12 music, band, choir, and music appreciation; though teaching band has always been my passion.
About Me I enjoy spending a lot of my free time with my three cats & dog: Duncan, Norman, Spooky & beagle Lenny. I have a deep love for nature and animals and often spend the summers hiking & floating down the Rifle River. When I'm not outside you can find me in my office playing video games. In 2020 I set roots in Standish where I bought and remodeled a house. My family is also very important to me, especially my disabled brother who I help take care of in my spare time. |
