About Ms. Corkey
Hello! My name is Ms. Corkey, and I am the current Director of Bands at Pinconning Middle/High School. I have been with PASD since August of 2022, where I started as the Elementary Music Teacher for Central Elementary and Linwood Elementary, as well as working as the Assistant Band Director. In January of 2023, I was appointed as the Director of Bands and have loved every moment since!
I graduated from Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, IL) with my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (Summa Cum Laude) in 2022. During my undergraduate career, I was fortunate enough to be a part of Sigma Alpha Iota (a women's music fraternity), Lambda Sigma Psi (music honors society), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), for which I served as Secretary and President. I held the Principal Tuba position in the Elmhurst University Wind Ensemble for three years, and was an active member of the tuba-euphonium studio, playing in brass quintets and performing a solo recital during my senior year. Currently, I play tuba with the Mid-Michigan Brass Band (Midland, MI) and the Classic Legacy Band of Saginaw.

Outside of school, you can find me hanging out with my cats, Peter and Percy, and my fiancé, Aron. In my spare time, I love playing Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons with friends. (Nerdy, I know!) I also love coffee and finding new ways to make fun coffee at home! I love horror movies, anything Marvel, and fun socks. When I'm feeling stressed, I like to meditate, try out new recipes, and listen to new music.
